How to Make a Nexus One Show when Debugging in Eclipse

E-mail Print PDF

Since I had plugged my Nexus One into my laptop before I ever installed the Android SDK, it already had installed its drivers and wouldn't show up when I hit debug in Eclipse. I only had a list of virtual machines. To fix this I had to update it to use the drivers included with the Android SDK. I use a Nexus One, but this process should also work for other Nexus phones. Here are the steps:

  1. Install the Android SDK (The driver is included).
  2. Open Control Panel -> Devices and Printers.
  3. I setup a Bluetooth connection with my Nexus One so it shows in the list twice. The one that looks like an external hard drive was the one I wanted to work with.
  4. Right click on the Nexus One under Devices and click Properties.

  5. Under the Hardware tab select the item named Nexus One and click Properties.

  6. Click Change Settings to unlock the settings.
  7. In the Driver tab click Update Driver.
  8. Browse to the folder with the driver. For me this was: C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\extras\google\usb_driver
  9. Click Ok to let the driver install.

That should be all you need to let the Nexus One show up for debugging in Eclipse.

It seems that most of the peop?e w?o currently own an i - Phone
would like to start to see the device add a larger screen and this is
a change that looks certa?nly going to happen once the new i - Phone 5 is launched.

C?ances are, they're "Googling" restaurants of t?eir area to determine where
they wo?ld like to opt for lunch. A really ?nteresting element of the Creative Studi? application for y?ur Nokia Lumia 900 is t?at it allows users
to capture excellent panoramic photographs.

I'm amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog
that's both equally educative and interesting, and let me tell
you, you've hit the nail on the head. The issue is something too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.
Now i'm very happy that I stumbled across this in my hunt for something
relating to this.

Howdy excellent blog! Does running a blog such as this require a massive amount work?

I have very little understanding of coding but I was hoping to start my own blog in the near future.
Anyway, if you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog
owners please share. I know this is off subject but I just needed to ask.
