How to Crossgrade Win7

E-mail Print PDF

Normally, when I buy a new computer I end up wiping it clean to get rid of all the bloatware. When I bought my new HP Envy 3D laptop though, I found that the system wasn’t loaded with junk software. Almost everything on the system was either part of the drivers or an actual useful application. I didn’t want to hunt down all the drivers and apps so I decided not to wipe the system if possible. The system came with Windows 7 Home Premium which is great, but I use a domain at home and Home Premium won’t connect to a domain. I already have upgrade licenses of Windows 7 Professional, but had some trouble figuring out how to upgrade the system from Home Premium to Professional. This is also known as a cross grade.

I ended up trying the Anytime Upgrade function. Fortunately this accepted my existing licenses. I put in the new license and left it alone to work. As I passed through taking care of some chores I saw the laptop downloading, updating, rebooting, etc. About ten minutes later it was rebooted into Windows 7 Professional and waiting to login. The system connected to my domain no problem and al the software and drivers were still in place and working. To find the Anytime Upgrade function just press the Windows key and type in Anytime Upgrade. Windows Anytime Upgrade should pop up. Click “Enter an Upgrade Key”, close all your apps, type in your key, and let it work. If you need a key the Anytime Upgrade keys are cheaper by about $90, but don’t come with a disk. You can get a Home Premium to Professional key here.

I think that what you wrote was very reasonable. But, what about this?
suppose you were to create a awesome headline? I ain't suggesting your
information is not solid., however suppose you added a post title to maybe grab people's attention? I mean How to Crossgrade Win7 is a little
vanilla. You should glance at Yahoo's home page and see how they
create article titles to grab people to click. You might add
a video or a related picture or two to grab people interested about what you've got
to say. Just my opinion, it would make your website a little
