Posting Images to a Joomla Site Using MS Word

E-mail Print PDF

I finally got images loading to this website using MS Word. I don't have much free time, so automating these things is critical for me. One of the reasons I don't put many images in my articles is because I don't have the extra time to spend uploading and linking them. So having the images upload from my Word document to my website without the extra steps is a big deal for me. I found the solution here:

The article isn't written for Joomla, but the settings are similar. I did it a little different though. I made an FTP account that only has access to the folder I'm going to upload images to and therefore this is also the home directory for the account. I do this for security reasons. If someone captures that login, they don't get access to anything other than my images folder. So the upload folder in the picture options became

Now that I can upload pictures, here are a couple pictures of what the settings look like.

Other setups may need some adjustment. The key for me was finding out that when using ftp the credentials don't need to be the same. You'll be prompted for the ftp login information when you publish your article.

Hi i have a few queiries regarding joomla and ms word. I was able to upload the documents and images without a hassle but the real problem is in getting them back. I mean when you try to retrieve the post for editing in ms word. Using Blog post ----> open existing. The post loads without any images! I don't understand this! What seems to be the problem. Please do check this out!
